21/10/2012 - Day 3 - BOOBIES!!!!!!!

Why is James looking so happy? He's spent the whole day looking at birds and boobies...

The blue footed booby
Can you guess? Q-rect - the
red footed booby!
Boobies – female anatomy or funnily feeted flying friends? You decide. Came in three types – the originally called red- and blue-footed boobies, and the Nazca boobies. Not sure which one won the booby prize, but couldn’t ignore their coloured faces and feet merely an arm’s reach away. Also fantastic to see their frequent fishing dives, but missed out on seeing it underwater… Fortunately no wraps around. Sorry that should read traps – made a bit of a booby…
A good looking pair of Nazca boobies

Now who do these belong to?

Also the short-eared owl - nice
spotting Chet!

Some red-billed tropicbird action
More birdies -
Boobies at different stages and Galapagos Dove

Noticing a theme yet?
Juvenile frigates, Juvenile lava Heron and Swallow tail gull

James' actual favourite - the sealion. More on this guy later

Plus some cool shoals, sea
urchins and this goofy dude!

Did we also mention we were
snorkelling twice a day?
So far had seen turtles, starfish and
surgeonfish
